The Company

Formed in 1896 by William Henry Screeton, Screeton Paintmaker soon gained a reputation for the production of specialist paints for problem areas. Joined by his son James in 1931, the company developed a range of products including chlorinated rubber paints and a thixotropic pure metallic lead anti-corrosive coating.

Following World War II, the company developed its product range further to include jointing and sealing compounds and decorative and protective finishes for the architectural market.

The Present Managing Director, Branton Screeton, is the grandson of the founder. He has developed this architectural product range still further and has taken the company into the vanguard of this specialised industry while still maintaining a family business.

In 2001 H.Marcel Guest Ltd - www.hmgpaint.com acquired a 20% shareholding in W.H.Screeton bringing synergy between manufacturing and development which will be beneficial to both companies.
